We will find inspiration for our paper cut project from China, where the folk art tradition of paper cutting has been practiced for generations. Paper cuts were traditionally made to celebrate the dreams, hopes and blessings of family and friends for events such as births, marriages, Chinese New Year and other aspects of Chinese culture.
During this unit we will also make and exchange “Artist Trading Cards” with High School students from an international school in Beijing, China.
