Students in Foundation Drawing Intensive made paper-cut designs inspired by stained glass windows. The class looked at examples of stained glass designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany as well as papercut projects done by Japanese high school students in Hokkaido. They planned out their images using a balance of positive and negative space. The black paper represents the lead and the color paper represents the pieces of colored stained glass. Stop by the art room display case to see these beautiful pieces up close!
